GIRL'S LACROSSE COACH

Coach Colleen Rocks-Slotman
Colleen started playing lacrosse in eighth grade. She played in high school for Washington Township, where she played varsity her sophomore, junior, and senior years. She was named team captain her senior year. Upon her arrival to Drexel University, in Philadelphia, PA, she started every game at midfield, and was one of the team’s top scorers. In her freshman year, she earned Drexel’s first ever CAA Rookie of the week honors as well as the Commissioner’s Academic Award. In Colleen’s senior year, she was named team captain, earned CAA Player of the Week honors for the week ending April 24, 2006, and was named Second Team All-Conference. She finished her career at Drexel as the team’s Most Improved Player and as the school’s fifth-leading goal scorer with 122 goals.

Colleen’s coaching experience includes coaching at several camps and clinics. She was a member of the coaching staff for the Pacific Falcons U-15 team.

BOY'S LACROSSE COACHES
Coach Grant Kiehl
Grant has over 25 years of lacrosse experience. He played four years at Norfolk Academy in Virginia as a midfielder. He was captain and his team was the State High School Champions. He went to Virginia Military Institute in 1988 and played four years as a division I midfielder. He was captain and MVP for his team his senior year. From 1988- 2003, Grant continued to play club lacrosse in Washington, D.C. and San Diego.

Grant started coaching in 1992-1993 at Deportola Jr High School Lacrosse Club where he was the head coach. From 1992-1999, he was a referee for the San Diego County Lacrosse Association. In 2009, he was the head coach for Scripps Ranch Lacrosse Division III B team. This year he is the director and a coach of Scripps Ranch Boys Lacrosse.

Coach John Landay
John Landay played lacrosse for Wesleyan University in Connecticut. While playing he was named a division III All-American Attackman, New England Player of the Year, and NESCAC Player of the Year in 2001. He was a two-time All NESCAC and a three-time All-New England player.

John was an assistant coach for the Washington & Lee University Men’s Lacrosse Team from 2005-2007. John was also offensive coordinator for the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) Men’s MCLA Division I Lacrosse Team from 2007 to 2008 and acted as interim head coach from August – November 2008. John’s focus is on offensive strategies and sets as well as individual offensive skills including dodging, feeding, stick skills, footwork and scoring.

Coach Jon Maxwell
Jon started playing lacrosse in 1997 for the Poway Youth Lacrosse Team. From 1998-2001, he played for Rancho Bernardo High School. In 2000 they were the SDCLA DII Champions. Jon went to Sonoma State University and played lacrosse there from 2003-2004 and 2006-2007. In 2006 they were WCLL Champions, and in 2007 Jon was an All-American/All–WCLL Face-off Specialist. In 2008 he played for Barbary Coast Lacrosse Club in San Francisco, and now he plays for San Diego Lacrosse Club.

Jon’s coaching experience started in 2007 at Sonoma Country Day School where he was the assistant coach. In 2008, he was the varsity head coach at Sonoma Academy High School. In 2009, Jon was the head coach for the Scripps Ranch Youth Lacrosse DIB team. He also was the varsity assistant coach at Scripps Ranch High School. He is the director/coach for the Miramar Flyers (Starz) Lacrosse Team for the 2009-2010 season.

Coach Matt Slotman
Matt’s high school playing experience includes playing for the 2001 New Jersey State Champions, Moorestown High School. He was also selected to the first team All-State team that year. He then continued playing at Drexel University, where he was a four year starter. Matt was selected to the All-CAA conference team, and was captain of the team his junior and senior years. He was named MVP of the team his senior year, and played in the 2005 Division 1 North/South All-Star Game. Matt has coached in numerous week-long lacrosse clinics.
